Help/FAQs

Care Instructions:

Every Fulcrum Jewelry Studio piece is made from solid sterling silver and/or brass, unless otherwise noted.

Gold Leaf pieces: Should not be worn in extreme conditions where moisture or heat is present (such as showering, doing dishes etc), though every day hand washing is acceptable. Be sure to dry thoroughly.  To clean- avoid any abrasive scrubbing of the gold leaf itself, while the surrounding bright silver can be cleaned with dry polishing cloths. Darkened patina areas should not be polished.

Silver only pieces: Mix together a 1/1 water and baking soda paste and gently scrub with a toothbrush. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.

Brass only pieces: Use above mentioned baking soda method, or commercial Brasso product as directed. If the piece has a black patina that you wish to maintain, do not use Brasso.

Corian pieces: Use a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol to clean the Corian pendants back to their white finish. For silver and brass components, use jewelry cleaner, Brasso, or above mentioned baking soda paste.

FAQs:

What is gold leaf?

Gold leaf is a super thin sheet of pure 24K gold. It is attached to jewelry with a special adhesive called "sizing", and then coated with a protective wax coating. Though relatively durable, gold leaf is most long lasting in recessed areas where it cannot be scratched off the surface, and on areas of the body that do not come in contact with hard surfaces often (like earrings and necklaces).

How do I determine my ring size?

There are several ways to determine your ring size. You can purchase a ring sizer, which consists of a set of rings that are numbered, and whichever fits you best, is your size. You can visit a local jewelry store, and they will size your finger in the same fashion. Or you can measure the diameter of the inside of the ring. See corresponding chart below
